TRANSFORMERS IS WELL GOOD

Transformers is well good. I saw it last night and enjoyed every minute of it. The pace was frantic, it was incredibly full on and visually the most stunning thing I've ever seen on screen! I cannot even comprehend how much money and time must have been invested to make it look that good.
The actual transformations, robots and vehicles all looked basically real. If you didn't know giant robots didn't exist, you'd think that they do. Maybe they do...
The story is OK - not much to go on but there never was in the cartoon anyway, and with most of the film establishing who the Transformers are and the human reaction to all the crazy technology, there's plenty to fill the time (I have a feeling the film was quite long, but I didn't really notice or once think 'what time will this end?').
Despite all the gripes about the designs of some of our favourite characters, I think it worked just fine. They spent a long time working on it to get it right, and I think what they did looks very cool. When you see it, you realise that if it had looked like the cartoon, it would have looked stupid.
The human characters are actually pretty good too. The leads really do pull it off and there's plenty of humour to keep it a bit grounded.
But I dare your blood not to chill a little when the Decepticons are heading for the dam (near the end) and they scream (in translated alien language):

"ALL HAIL MEGATRON!"

Very cool. I loved it.
